Looking to dig into composting at home? Want some expert gardening tips? Join LA Sanitation & Environment for a FREE Home Composting and Urban Gardening workshop (registration required). While these workshops were previously canceled to keep everyone safe in light of COVID, they are back up and running every Saturday from March until June from 9AM – 11AM at four different locations:

1st Saturday of each month from 9-11am

2nd Saturday of each month from 9-11am

3rd Saturday of each month from 9-11am

4th Saturday of each month from 9-11am

The first half of the workshop will cover how you can turn your kitchen scraps and yard trimmings into nutrient-rich soil amendment for a happy garden. This portion of the workshop will be led by a team of ten rotating LA Sanitation & Environment green waste specialists. The second half of the workshop will focus on monthly gardening topics taught by Scott Henley and Steve List:

  • March: spring vegetables
  • April: soils, compost, and worms
  • May: roses and trees
  • June: cactus and succulents

In addition to instruction, there will be compost bins, worm bins, and compost aeration tools available for purchase at a discounted rate and free mulch and compost for all LA residents!

Don’t miss out! Register for a workshop so you can get outside, learn a ton, and have fun.
